We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Twin Cities to hire a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist. This is a newly created role as the company continues to expand its in-house accounting function, offering strong visibility, ownership, and long-term growth potential.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced AP professional who enjoys full-cycle responsibilities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings a positive, adaptable mindset to their work.
What You’ll Be Doing- Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing in a PO-based environment
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices with a high degree of accuracy
- Prepare and support weekly and monthly payment runs (check, ACH, wire)
- Reconcile AP aging reports and vendor statements; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Partner with internal teams (Purchasing, Receiving, Finance) to ensure smooth payment workflows
- Communicate directly with vendors to address billing questions and resolve issues
- Support month-end close activities, audits, and process improvement initiatives
- Assist leadership with projects aimed at improving efficiency and controls
- 3+ years of full-cycle AP experience in a PO-driven environment (manufacturing, construction, or similar preferred)
- Strong "big picture" understanding of accounts payable processes
- Experience working in a larger ERP system (JDE preferred; other major ERPs welcome)
- Strong Excel skills required (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs at minimum; SUMIFs and formulas a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Exposure to job costing and/or sales & use tax is a plus
