This role:
The Warehouse Specialist (weekend shift) is responsible for receiving, shipping, storage, inventory accuracy, and picking operations to support both internal and external operations, starting from receipt until final product shipment. Activities include conformance to Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), supporting warehouse cGMP compliance, operating powered industrial vehicles (PIVs), and driving, loading/unloading work‑in‑process (WIP). Finished Goods (FG) and Raw Materials (RM) are moved between Simtra locations.
The specialist supports production (Filling and Packaging operations) through staging and preparation of batches, truck driving/movement of materials, and maintaining inventory accuracy. Cross‑training occurs in all supply chain warehouses. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Work shifts:
Friday – Sunday 6:00 pm – 6:30 am.
The Responsibilities:
- Safe loading and unloading of trucks, including BOL/pack slip verification and damage assessment.
- Proper packing of material for shipment.
- Utilization of various shipping systems (Fed Ex, UPS).
- Proper documentation of shipping, receiving, or batch dispensing activities.
- Receiving, filling orders, adjusting for damages or shortages.
- Preparing inventory for transportation and monitoring progress throughout shift.
- Travel to multiple locations as required.
- Compliance with DOT, IATA, and company SOPs.
- Perform general duties of warehouse, including cycle counting, temperature monitoring, work order picking, ERP navigation, inventory accuracy, and material storage.
- Operate powered industrial truck (PIT) and other material handling equipment.
- Respond to environmental chamber alarms.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Processes and Good Documentation Practices.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Truck Driving
:
Will require driving company trucks for material transport; a for‑hire license is required and must be obtained prior to start date.
- Use computer systems for reports, inventory tracking, and other activities.
- Coordinate material movement between warehouses, maintaining correct temperature.
- Complete dangerous goods Bill of Lading (BOL) for required shipments.
- Perform daily vehicle inspection and cleaning.
- Operate temperature control unit and download truck data.
- Re‑fuel trucks at assigned intervals.
- Adhere to DOT regulations.
- Dispense material from Raw Materials warehouse.
- Operate barcode scanning equipment.
The Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required;
Associate’s degree preferred. - Minimum 1 year of warehouse and/or technical office experience.
- Must be able to operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Must obtain Hazardous Materials certification.
