HVAC Technician About the Role
Join a skilled and supportive team in our Refrigeration Shop, where your expertise keeps our facilities running at their best. As an HVAC Technician, you’ll take on a variety of planned maintenance tasks, repairs, and special projects across campus. You’ll work both independently and alongside other talented trades professionals, gaining exposure to a wide range of commercial and residential HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment.

What You’ll DoInstall, troubleshoot, repair, and replace chillers, central air systems, window units, and refrigeration equipment.
Diagnose issues and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring systems are restored to peak performance.
Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment.
Partner with heat mechanics to maintain and repair HVAC and boiler systems, including water treatment processes.
Service, repair, and rebuild pumps and compressors.
Strong skills in HVAC, refrigeration, troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and preventive maintenance.
EPA Universal or EPA 608 Certification.
At least 2 years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC service.
Hands‑on refrigeration experience.
Familiarity with electrical work, boiler systems, and chiller maintenance.
Bonus:

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, with potential rotating on‑call responsibilities
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.84 – $38.00/hr.
