Overview

IMU DINING (BA-DIMU-IUBLA) – Indiana University Dining and Hospitality embraces and expands IU's core values of education, innovation, and tradition, embodying the Hoosier hospitality spirit. From the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU), hospitality staff serve thousands of guests each year through dining and retail operations and catered events, conferences, and celebrations. IMU dining operates the Tudor Room, Sugar and Spice, The Vault Pub, and the Globe.

IMU dining staff works closely with hotel and catering teams and IU's retail dining to embody the Hoosier spirit through every customer interaction.

• Serves guests during service hours, providing a memorable guest service experience with an impeccable attitude.
• Assists with dining room setup/close down and cash closeout.
• Maintains standards of presentation and quality of service.
• Attends server trainings.

• Education:
  High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
• Work Experience:
  Serving experience.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  Ability to obtain Alcohol Serving Permit within 10 days from date of hire; ability to complete Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission Server Training Course within 30 days from date of hire.
• Other:
  Must be 19 years of age.
• Skills:
  Ability to follow instructions; ability to work a flexible schedule and show up in a timely manner; ability to follow proper health and safety codes; ability to maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires tasks typically associated with food service work and cleaning/ware washing. It involves periods of both sedentary work and periods of frequent movement in the workspace. Using commercial kitchen equipment and tools, moving supplies weighing 20–50 pounds, and effective communication skills are necessary. The role may involve work indoors around hot and cold temperatures and loud noises. It includes handling meat and plant-based products and may involve ingredients that include common allergens.

$12.25 per hour

Minimum of 10 hours per week, Monday – Sunday. Capped at 29 hours per week. Flexible schedule with ability to work late hours. Management reserves the right to adjust work hours to accommodate special meals and events.
