Job Details:

• Work in a mixed acuity unit handling ICU to PCU level patients

• Patient ratios: ICU 1:2, AA ratios 1:3-4 (very rare)

• Available shifts: 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour options

• Guaranteed hours: 40 hours per week for 8/10-hour shifts, 36 hours for three 12-hour shifts, 48 hours for four 12-hour shifts

• Weekend requirement:
Every other weekend, 6 weekend shifts per contract

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• 36 hours of orientation required

• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

• No on-call responsibilities

• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH stroke scale preferred

• Indiana state license required (must be in hand, no pending licenses accepted)

• Minimum 18 months of experience required

• Previous charge experience preferred

• Must be comfortable with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management

• Experience required with titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips

• Preferred skills include intra-aortic balloon pump, pre/post cardiac catheterization, sheath removal, ventricular assist devices, and ventilator management

• Primary patient populations include cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology patients

• Dress code:
Black bottoms and red top

• Uses Cerner charting system

• Free parking provided

• Care for adult and geriatric patients in 30-bed unit with all private rooms and overhead lifts

This 210-bed short-term acute care hospital operates a specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit that serves as a mixed acuity environment. The facility features state-of-the-art equipment including telemetry monitoring, all private patient rooms with overhead lifts, and comprehensive interdisciplinary support services. The hospital provides advanced cardiac services including cardiovascular and thoracic surgery procedures such as CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS, while also maintaining flexibility to care for medical/surgical, progressive care, and ICU-level patients across cardiovascular and oncology specialties.
