Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts in a mixed acuity unit handling both PCU and Med Surg patients

• Patient ratios of 1:5

• Every other weekend requirement with 6 weekend shifts per contract

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• 18 months of experience required, first time travelers accepted

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS; NIH preferred

• No on-call requirements

• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

• Indiana license required (compact or temporary accepted prior to start)

• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts, 48 hours for 4x12 shifts

• Dress code: black bottoms and red top

• Charting system:
Cerner

• Free parking available

• 36-hour orientation required

• Must be comfortable with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips

• Care for patients with CV surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology diagnoses

• Work with specialized equipment including telemetry and overhead lifts in all private rooms

• Previous charge experience preferred

This short-term acute care hospital features 210 staffed beds and operates a mixed acuity unit that combines PCU and Med Surg capabilities. The facility specializes in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS procedures, with comprehensive support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The hospital maintains modern equipment and all private patient rooms with advanced monitoring capabilities.
