Night Auditor – IU Biddle Hotel

The 189-room IU Hotel and Biddle Conference Center is the largest hotel in Bloomington and the only hotel on the IU Bloomington campus. Guests enjoy upscale, convenient accommodations and parking and first‑rate amenities, including the onsite Vault Pub, bowling, Starbucks, international food from local restaurants, and more—all while staying in the heart of campus, steps away from the best dining, shopping, arts and entertainment, and nightlife on campus and in the city of Bloomington.

Responsibilities
  • Runs nightly database maintenance and end of the day reports, compiling statistical data and financial transactions conducted in the Biddle Hotel
  • Verifies and balances all daily financial transactions, including guest accounts, credit card payments, and cash receipts
  • Investigates and resolves any discrepancies or imbalances in financial records
  • Acts as the key point of contact for the hotel and building in the absence of hotel and front desk manager, resolving guest concerns, and responding to urgent situations as they arise
  • Works as an overnight building manager, completing building rounds and ensuring doors and areas are secure such as kitchens, storage rooms, mechanical rooms, exterior doors, as well as meeting and events spaces
  • Responds to and documents any security incidents or emergencies in accordance with hotel policy
  • Ensures all doors and access points are secured during appropriate hours
  • Provides frequent and direct contact with the public both on the phone and in person
  • Performs late-night guest check‑ins and early morning check‑outs efficiently and courteously
  • Handles new reservations and reservation modifications
  • Addresses guest concerns, complaints, and emergencies promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary
  • Performs other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by management
Education

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
Experience

Preferred:

  • Previous hotel experience or night audit role

Additional Requirements

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and orally in the English language and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. This role requires the ability to stand for long periods of time. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Compensation

& Hours

$17.00 per hour

Friday and Saturday from 11 PM – 7 AM

Hours/days subject to change based on business need
