Job Details:

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts on 4E PCU/Med Surg mixed acuity unit

• Must be comfortable with both PCU and Med Surg patients and will work across all areas as needed

• Patient ratio of 1:5

• 18 months of experience required, first-time travelers accepted

• Every other weekend requirement

• Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS; NIH stroke scale preferred

• Previous charge experience preferred with $3.00 hourly charge pay differential

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts, 48 hours for 4x12 shifts

• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

• Indiana license required (compact accepted), pending licenses accepted but must obtain prior to start

• Locals not accepted for this position

• Scrub colors: black bottoms and red tops

• Cerner charting system

• 36 hours of orientation

• Special skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, TAVI/TAVR procedures, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration

• Care for patients with CV surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology diagnoses

• Work with specialized equipment including telemetry, overhead lifts in all private rooms

• Support from interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Facility:

This 210-bed short-term acute care hospital provides comprehensive cardiovascular and surgical services with a focus on mixed acuity care. The facility features all private patient rooms equipped with overhead lifts and telemetry monitoring capabilities. The PCU/Med Surg unit maintains a 30-bed capacity with a daily census of 30 patients, specializing in cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and progressive care for cardiac and oncology patients.

The hospital offers extensive support services and maintains modern equipment to support complex cardiac procedures including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS procedures.
