As an Optometric Tech in Training, you’ll serve as the doctor’s right hand—conducting pre-tests, gathering vital health information, and ensuring every patient is prepped for an exceptional experience. It’s technical.

- Perform pre-tests and diagnostic procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
- Collect and document patient medical histories and current health information.
- Communicate effectively with doctors and help manage clinic flow.
- Maintain clean, functional equipment for a seamless patient experience.
- Assist with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and benefit authorizations.
- Stay current with training and actively work to grow your skills.

- Starting Pay: $17.00/hour base
- At 30 Days:
Eligibility to complete Tavel Technician Certification → $1.50/hour raise - Bilingual Pay Eligibility: fluency in another language, increase to base pay below:
- Spanish, ASL, or French Creole → +$0.50/hour & Burmese → +$1.00/hour
- You must attend a mandatory two-week paid training (no absences)—this is where your journey starts, and we invest heavily in making sure you’re set up for success
- Prior medical, clinical, or pharmacy experience is helpful, but not required—we hire for attitude, teach for skill
- You’ll work some Saturdays—because our patients need us then too
