The Lecturer in Biology is a full-time, 10-month faculty position focused on teaching lectures, laboratory, and discussion sections as determined by expertise and the needs of the department. Key working relationships include working with other faculty members and key staff members across campus. This position is a non-tenure-track, academic position in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, reports to the Chair of the Department and includes service responsibilities which may involve participation in the department, college, campus, and/or community level.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
* Lead instructor for labs to plan and execute instructional delivery patterns for each class meeting.
* Know the Learning Management System (LMS) platform and Publish Digital platforms for assigned courses.
* Troubleshoot technical and digital material issues with Publisher representatives and university IT representatives.
* Monitor student progress on achieving learning goals and grade assignments/assessments.
* Supervise multiple laboratory sections in PHSL-P261 and establish standard laboratory protocols and routines to be followed by adjunct/lab instructors.
* Order lab supplies and equipment
* Hold in-person office hours in line with current College and University guidelines.

Basic Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Master's degree in biology or related discipline or Master's degree in another discipline with 18+ credit hours of upper-level Biology and ancillary science courses (e.g., chemistry, geology, environmental sciences, etc.)
* Demonstrated experience in teaching lectures and laboratories at the undergraduate level
* Ability to lift/carry 20 pounds (for laboratory setup and preparation)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience teaching and supervising Anatomy/ Physiology courses and labs at the undergraduate level
* Experience working underserved students in STEM
* Experience in assessing and revising courses
