ALUMNI RELATIONS (UA-ALUM-IUBLA)
The Indiana University (IU) Alumni Association's (IUAA) mission is to activate and support the global alumni network of more than 805,000 IU graduates – encouraging alumni to grow a lifelong connection with Indiana University and inspiring their ongoing generosity toward each other and the university.

The IUAA activates IU's powerful global network through live and virtual events, volunteer opportunities, scholarship programs, compelling IU content, and seriously fun traditions. The association develops and supports volunteer leadership, serves as a voice for alumni as the university evolves, and provides lifelong learning opportunities.
Department-Specific Responsibilities- Works for the entire Programs team, floating between departments to complete projects.
- Participates in leadership for the Student Alumni Association (SAA), IUAA's official student group that collaborates on SAA outreach, Homecoming and all Homecoming-related events.
- In the fall semester, this position creates, implements, and leads the Homecoming Steering committee, a coalition of student leaders from Bloomington student groups, to create a week of Homecoming events for all Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) students.
- During the spring semester, this position will be an essential member of the overall Alumni Programs department and participates in the planning, coordination, promotion and implementation of Personal Enrichment programming.
- Researches and recruits faculty, alumni and student speakers (Mini U, We Are IU).
- Serves as a departmental liaison to Alumni Marketing in developing and editing promotional materials for use on social media and via print.
- Assists with travel mailings including pre-trip packets, brochure mailings, etc.
- Enrolled as an undergraduate student at Indiana University Bloomington for academic year 2026-27
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience creating communications (social media campaigns) for a defined audience.
- Comfortable making cold calls.
- Demonstrated eagerness and commitment to collaboration, willing to form relationships with students across the Bloomington campus.
- Embrace working as a member of a team and bring a collaborative attitude to work.
- Highly resourceful and self‑motivated.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
This position is for Academic Year with the potential to extend to future semesters. Position will begin in August 2026.
Compensation and HoursLocation:
1000 East 17th Street, Bloomington, Indiana
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Hours:
12-15 hours per week
