Position SummaryThe Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Brass Department seeks a tenured or tenure‑track faculty in tuba/euphonium. The successful candidate will possess an extensive and successful background as a performer and teacher, collaborate effectively with faculty colleagues, and actively recruit and inspire undergraduate and graduate students in a professionally‑oriented educational environment.
Responsibilities- Studio teaching of tuba and euphonium majors at all levels and in all degree and diploma programs.
- Coaching of chamber music.
- Service on Jacobs School of Music committees and participation in department meetings, recital hearings, competitions, juries, auditions, recruitment activities, and doctoral advisory committees.
- Other duties as assigned within the Brass Department.
- Artist/teacher with a growing (for junior applicants) or established (for senior applicants) national/international reputation as a performer.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and recruitment.
- Master’s degree in music or related field required; doctorate preferred.
- Commensurate professional experience considered.
- Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
