OverviewThe Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. This role provides healthcare to individuals, families and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Qualifications- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
- College Diploma in Nursing
- Work Experience in pediatric ambulatory settings
- Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in the area of practice.
- Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
- Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
- Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
- Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
- Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.
- Assists with coordination of care for patients age 0-21 with referrals to outside specialty providers.
- Performs telephone triage of both acute and chronic needs for patients age 0-21.
- Assists with in office procedures such as circumcision.
- Provides in office education for parents of patients with newly diagnosed diabetes and food allergies.
- Administers immunizations and medications to patients age 0-21.
- Obtains prior authorization and works with specialty pharmacies to obtain Synagis for pediatric patients.

Compensation And BenefitsThe compensation range for this position is $30.39 per hour – $52.27 per hour. Carle Health offers a comprehensive benefits package for team members and providers.
