Overview

C&J Equipment Manufacturing is a full-service manufacturing company established in 1978. We specialize in fabricating high-quality equipment and are committed to delivering excellence in every project.

At C&J Equipment, we don’t just complete projects—we set the standard. Our legacy is innovation, our promise is reliability, and our mission is to exceed expectations on every build, every time.

As we scale our operations, we are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance / Quality Control Lead to serve as the technical authority for our inspection department. This isn't just a role for an inspector; it’s a role for a quality champion who will refine our standards and mentor our production teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Oversight: Perform advanced inspections on complex weldments, critical assemblies, and high-tolerance parts to ensure 100% compliance with AWS, ASME, or customer-specific codes.
  • Strategic QA Leadership: Develop and refine Internal Quality Control (IQC) protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reduce rework and scrap rates.
  • Vendor & Material Management: Lead the auditing of incoming materials and manage supplier quality relationships to ensure zero-defect supply chains.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Author comprehensive Quality Reports and Data Packages. Analyze inspection data to identify trends and present actionable insights to senior management.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the primary liaison between Engineering and Production. Resolve complex technical discrepancies and provide expert guidance on weld procedures and metallurgy.
  • Mentorship: Lead and train junior inspectors, fostering a culture of precision, safety, and continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 7+ years of hands-on QA/QC experience in a heavy fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: Active CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) credential is preferred.
  • Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in reading complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and flow charts.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership and communication skills. You must have the confidence to halt production if quality standards are not met and the diplomacy to work with teams to find solutions.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
