OverviewThe Clinical Team Leader (CTL) identifies the procedures, processes, and patient care to be accomplished during the work period, as well as the resources required to carry out the work of the unit safely in collaboration with the unit and organizational leadership teams. Distributes the work to make the best use of available resources, considering the knowledge, skills, and abilities of staff integral to the patient care process.
The CTL provides ongoing coordination of work and resources to meet changing requirements, including coordinating patient flow with clinical logistics and crisis services. The CTL is dedicated to safety, may serve as a de-escalation trainer, promotes utilization of Hospital Acquired Condition Prevention tools, and remains situationally aware of patient status and overall milieu acuity. The CTL observes patient care delivery and outcomes and may contribute observations to employee evaluations or education, while not functioning as a supervisor with control over employment decisions.
- Coordinate procedures, processes, and patient care for the unit during the work period.
- Distribute work to optimize use of personnel and materials, considering staff knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Provide ongoing coordination of work and resources to meet changing requirements; collaborate with clinical logistics and crisis services to coordinate patient flow.
- Promote safety, de-escalation training, and use of Hospital Acquired Condition Prevention tools.
- Monitor patient care outcomes, compare to accepted standards, adjust resource assignments, and report changing needs and outcomes to staff.
- Contribute observations to individual employee evaluations or proficiency considerations when appropriate, while not exercising employment decision authority.
- Accountable for overall operation of an assigned unit during a specific time period.
- An Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is required.
- Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing within five years of hire.
- Registered Nursing license in State of Ohio
- CPR:
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
- 3 years of healthcare experience is required for this role
- Full time, 36 hours
- Day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- 3 (12) hour shifts
- Weekend and holiday rotation
- Serving the inpatient Mental Health Unit at the Mathile Center
