Overview

Toolmaker – Bloomfield, CT. Pay: $45.00 per hour. 26-00928

The position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and inspecting precision components, tools, and fixtures in a manufacturing or tool room environment. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and experience operating a variety of manual and CNC machining equipment. The individual must work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards, safety compliance, and effective communication across teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Fabricate parts and extrusion components using open setup methods on manual lathes, surface grinders, manual and 3-axis milling machines, metal press brakes, water jet, and wire EDM equipment.
  • Assemble various components, tools, and fixtures while following established operational and shop guidelines.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, pin gages, and comparators to verify dimensions and quality against prints.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean workspace, including participation in end-of-task and end-of-shift cleanup activities.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
Job Requirements
  • Proficiency with manual machining equipment and exposure to CNC machining operations.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Master

    CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and ensure tooling and components meet quality standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
