Secondary English Teacher

Position Purpose The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of talented English teachers to be reviewed as potential candidates for full time English positions during the  school year. • Develops and administers curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for English, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

• English 7-12: 015 certification
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

• Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Master's Degree preferred.

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
