Description

The Division of Examination and Graduation Administration invites interested individuals to submit their applications to be included in our pool of candidates for ad hoc part-time Invigilation opportunities. This pool will allow the Division to draw on suitable individuals when Invigilation services are required.

Please note that inclusion in the pool does not constitute or guarantee any appointment of any sort. Appointments will be made on an as-needed (ad hoc), hourly remunerated basis.

Requirements

To ensure your application is complete, you must submit ALL documents listed under the inherent requirements, as well as the following standard documentation:

  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae.
  • Copies of your qualifications, or official proof of qualifications obtained (If you hold foreign qualifications, please include SAQA accreditation).
  • A copy of your identity document (South African  passport for foreign nationals).
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Prevent Cheating:
    Monitor students to ensure no unauthorized materials or behavior occur during the exam.
  • Maintain Examination

    Conditions:

    Ensure a quiet, orderly environment conducive to concentration for all students.
  • Distribute and Collect Examination Materials:
    Hand out examination question papers and materials and collect them at the end of the session.
  • Timekeeping:
    Announce start and end times and ensure the exam runs according to the scheduled duration.
  • Assist Students:
    Provide guidance on procedural queries without offering academic assistance.
  • Report Irregularities:
    Record and report any breaches of exam rules or unusual incidents.
  • Examination preparation:
    Assist with administrative duties prior to the commencement of the examinations.
  • Venue Preparation:
    Oversee the setup and dismantling of graduation venues to ensure full readiness prior to events and proper closure afterward.
  • Equipment Coordination:
    Assist with the transportation, arrangement, and organization of equipment and materials to facilitate smooth operational flow.
  • Presentation Standards:
    Support venue preparation before and after ceremonies to uphold a professional and high-quality presentation.
  • Operational Support:
    Provide direct, on-site assistance to the Graduation Team during ceremonies to enable seamless execution of activities.
  • Responsiveness and Reliability:
    Address ad-hoc operational requirements promptly, demonstrating adaptability and dependability in dynamic circumstances.
  • General Assistance:
    Deliver physical support as needed throughout graduation sessions to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
Inherent Requirements
  • Grade 12 on NQF Level 4 (attach a copy).
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in basic digital tools (clearly indicated in CV).
Recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, time management, and a high level of reliability.
  • Demonstrated integrity and a clear criminal record.
  • Availability during examination and graduation periods, with the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
