Overview

We are seeking a patient and motivated Autism Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting supporting pupils aged 5 to 16
. This is a full-time role with an immediate start
, ideal for someone passionate about helping children and young people with autism to thrive both academically and socially.

You will be supporting pupils with autism spectrum conditions
, often alongside:

  • Communication and interaction difficulties

  • Sensory processing needs

  • Social and emotional regulation challenges

Support is personalised, consistent and centred around building confidence, independence and engagement.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support

  • Assist with structured learning and daily routines

  • Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff

  • Minimum of 6 months  childcare experience
    , particularly supporting children with SEN or autism

  • Experience with in a primary or secondary setting is desirable

  • A full UK driving licence is essential due to the school s location

  • Calm, empathetic and proactive approach

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Competitive pay of £13.75 per hour
    , paid weekly via PAYE

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
