Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

Hours:
Between 8.30am – 4pm
Pay: £90 – £100 per day (weekly pay)

Axcis Education is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding SEN school in Blandford Forum, providing 1:1 support to children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of complex needs. This rewarding role offers the chance to provide consistency, encouragement and tailored support, helping each student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The school delivers a well-established programme of specialist education and access to comprehensive clinical and therapeutic services.
Role- Provide personalised 1:1 support to help students remain focused, engaged, and motivated
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering creative, individualised learning activities
- Support students’ academic, emotional, and social development with consistent guidance
- Promote progress in communication, independence, social interaction, and self-care
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a trauma-informed, holistic approach
- Build strong, trusting relationships to create a safe, nurturing atmosphere
- Experience supporting children or young people with ASC or other SEN
- A genuine passion for helping learners with additional needs
- Strong communication, patience, and organisational skills
- A flexible, proactive, and team-focused attitude
