VAN DRIVER​/BLAKELY

Job Description

A transit van driver is a professional who transports passengers in a van. The driver follows a set route or schedule, makes multiple stops to pick up or drop off passengers, and ensures passengers are secured in the van before continuing the route.

• Provide safe and efficient transportation for passengers.
• Operate the van on scheduled times, following a pre-determined route.
• Pick up passengers on dispatched requests for transportation.
• Conduct a pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the vehicle each day.
• Check for vehicle damages and monitor oil change requirements.
• Report any issues with the vehicle to the supervisor.
• Complete maintenance requests and fuel the van at the end of each shift and throughout the day as necessary.
• Clean the inside of the van at the end of each daily operation.
• Behave in a courteous and respectful manner toward others.
• Maintain all necessary records.
• Follow all established safety policies and procedures, DOT guidelines, and rules of the road.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
• Ability to work independently, be responsible, and reliable.
• Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance and wear closed-toed shoes.
• Ability to complete required training and certifications after employment.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, crouch, push, and/or pull.
• Strong computer knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with safe and correct operation of equipment is preferred.
• Pass a drug test prior to employment.
