Responsibilities- Accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, administrative activities, and ensuring efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, while supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers following company policies and laws.
- Oversee the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel, including training, coaching, performance management, discipline, and termination decisions.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving complaints, and providing timely service to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Assist pharmacists with patient care tasks such as registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verification within legal limits.
- Delegate and assign non-clinical work, ensuring tasks are completed on time and maintaining workflow accountability.
- Prepare reports and records for company and agency requirements under Pharmacy Manager or pharmacist direction.
- Manage pharmacy workflow, coordinate daily schedules, recommend hourly allocations, and ensure the pharmacy is clean, orderly, and stocked.
- Ensure compliance with business administrative activities, inventory management, and annual inventory preparation.
- Drive new technology/process rollouts, champion change, and engage the team in action planning.
- Maintain security safeguards for pharmacy equipment and records, reporting any concerns that could compromise security.
- Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist, following Company policies and the Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
- Accurately process insurance claims and follow up with insurance companies and providers to prevent payment rejections.
- Assist Store and Pharmacy Managers in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
- Manage Community Outreach Portal, coordinate off-site immunization clinics and community events, and build retail partnership relationships.
- Lead performance management of technicians, ensuring compliance with discipline policies and maintaining technician accountability for attendance and timeliness.
- Handle technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling, ensuring timely training completion.
- Identify knowledge gaps and support team members with hands‑on training or learning modules.
- Assist in monitoring licensure, registration, and certification status for all pharmacy staff.
- Follow company procedures for recruitment, record retention, and training.
- Maintain PTCB certification and relevant pharmacy and healthcare training, including LTMP e-modules.
- Seek professional development through performance monitoring, feedback, and mentorship.
- Communicate with pharmacy team, relay messages from support centers, and participate in store/pharmacy meetings.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).
- Previous people management/leadership experience.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

The actual hourly salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors. The role will remain open until filled.
