A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

As a Construction Project Manager at Tribal One, you will routinely be challenged with new experiences and opportunities. We are in search of leaders that are responsible for all aspects of the planning, coordination, execution, and supervision of design-bid-build and design-build projects from start-up to close-out. You will oversee all aspects of construction projects including communications with owners, subcontractors, architects, designers, suppliers and project personnel concerning project costs, staffing and scheduling for the company's projects.

The Construction Project Manager will lead, mentor and coach/train project engineers and junior project managers to become senior project managers, coach/train junior members of the company in project execution processes, mentor junior project managers in safe, expedient and profitable execution of their assigned projects and empower junior project managers and strategize with them to overcome obstacles during project execution. The Senior Construction Project Manager ensures that Tribal One is represented professionally and effectively by providing outstanding communication and service.

In addition to leading, mentoring and coaching/training, the Project Manager, you will manage large, small and/or multiple projects and will serve as the primary point of contact with contracting officers, end customers and vendors. The Project Manager will periodically travel to job sites to check quality, contract compliance and meetings with the customer. You will also participate in proposal creation and estimating to determine timeframe, budget, schedule and procedures that will be used to accomplish the project, staffing requirements and resources in all phases of construction.

Other important activities include, but are not limited to, budgeting and cost control, team leadership and coordination, client relations, quality assurance and compliance, risk management and documentation and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR A SENIOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
    Construction Management; or a related field.
  • Must be either a citizen of the U.S. or a non‑U.S. citizen who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence as evidenced by a Permanent Resident Card (USCIS I‑551).
  • Minimum of 10 years as a Project Manager for a general contractor specializing in federal government projects, with a proven track record of managing large‑scale projects (prefer $5MM+ projects).
  • Experience managing multiple projects with employees in multiple locations nationwide.
  • Experience implementing Contractor Quality Control System Management Plans that align with Government Quality Assurance and Performance Measures.
  • Vast experience with the government's change order processes and pricing.
  • Experience with value engineering design, estimating and proposals.
  • Ability to envision and create unique and innovative ideas for solutions, betterments or VEPs.
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency specific regulations, including the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
