Overview
Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Security Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will lead installations from beginning to end of project, including execution, commissioning, and end user training. As a Security Technician, you are part of a dynamic team that allows you to advance as your expertise increases. Convergint is proficient with alarms (DMP and ICT), CCTV (AXIS, Milestone, Verint, March, Genetec) and access control (Genetec, Lenel, AMAG, C-CURE).

- Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation with guidance as needed. Act as the key interface for technical support and training for the customer and maximize customer satisfaction; refer more complex issues to higher level colleagues.
- Familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted; interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams and repair equipment using knowledge of electronics and standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions. Write routine programs for systems.
- Act as the customer's best service provider, ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer's first choice for service.
- Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
- Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards, and suggestions for product improvements.
- Execute technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets, including programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and ongoing technical support.
- Identify potential project risks, communicate with appropriate parties, and assist in developing and implementing strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager to coordinate projects; make recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope and identify ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as requested or required.
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to meet customer needs and wants without prompting.
- Relevant experience in the security and integration business.
- Willingness to learn technical skills related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
- Self-starter and ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., handles a variety of hand and power tools).
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Education:
High School/GED or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant field experience in the security industry.
- PLT license
- Certifications in one or more of the following:
Genetec, Lenel, C-CURE, AMAG, Milestone
Some overtime may be required.

The anticipated compensation of this position is $26 - $34 per hour.
