Southern Oaks Place - Blaine, MN is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and uphold the highest standards of resident care. Position Summary
:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of nursing services within the community. This role ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations, promotes best clinical practices, and leads the nursing team through training, mentorship, and performance management.
- Oversee all nursing operations including assessments, care planning, medication management, and infection control
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of nursing staff
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations when needed
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and quality assurance programs
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and compassionate care
- Support survey readiness and quality improvement initiatives
Required:
- Active RN license (State of Minnesota or eligible)
- Prior nursing leadership experience (Director of Nursing, Assistant DON, Nurse Manager, or similar)
- Knowledge of long-term care or senior living regulations
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Preferred:
- Experience in skilled nursing or assisted living
- Survey and compliance experience
- Proven ability to build and retain strong clinical teams

Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 per year
