The Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers quality professional services with a focus on the guest’s total look. The Stylist supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager in performance, people, and process.

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing.
• Meet or exceed a sales goal of $800 average weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services.
• Demonstrate business acumen and pursue growth opportunities.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests, including walk‑in, efficiently.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team for a seamless guest experience.
• Build professional peer and brand relationships.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistency.
• Use booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM.
• Maintain cleanliness of salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and assigned spaces.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets with loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous salon experience preferred.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques in hair cutting, coloring, styling, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing.
• Proficiency in using equipment and chemicals required for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and a clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting or moving up to 10 lbs during shift.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

The pay range for this position is the higher of $11.13 - $16.80 per hour or services pay based on the Company’s Services Compensation Plan. Exact pay depends on qualifications, experience, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime pay and tips. Full‑time associates are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part‑time associates are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
