Estimator Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
• Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline, no exceptions
• Follow up on estimates
• Provide pricing for change orders on awarded projects
• Make site visits on specific projects
• Submit bids daily
• Keep track of estimating on all submitted projects
• Assist with phone coverage when needed
• Show creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from vendors
• Must be a team player

Skills:

• Must have basic computer skills
• Excellent client relationship skills
• Knowledge of aluminum glazing systems and their applications
• Strong geometry and math skills
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
• Ability to handle numerous projects, phones, prioritize workload, and work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge and experience of custom door hardware
• Goal driven

Requirements:

• Experience with GDS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and estimating software
• Must be able to communicate effectively and conduct themselves professionally; excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good working knowledge of fabrication and installation to understand customer needs
• 2+ years of construction estimating experience
