Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal - Part-time

Overview

Salary up to £37,485 DOE. We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Summerwood Vets on a part-time basis on a 12 month FTC covering 21 hours per week. This role will involve all standard veterinary responsibilities including surgery and consultations. Rota patterns can be arranged to suit you – no weekends or out-of-hours requirements.

Work-life balance is important to us, and we are open to discussing working days/hours that suit you. Typical hours are between 8:30am – 6:30pm, with flexibility to accommodate a rota that works for you. There is also an opportunity to work at our Summercourt practice if you are interested. Easy access to Newport, Cardiff and the countryside.

Summerwood is a busy small-animal practice located in Blackwood, South Wales. The area offers a range of amenities and access to the Brecon Beacons and surrounding scenery.

You will join a collaborative team and handle standard veterinary duties, including performing surgery and conducting consultations. The role may involve working across our practices as needed.

Well-equipped practice with four consult rooms (one brand new), a brand-new cattery, separate cat and dog kennels, waiting areas, theatre and prep room. Facilities include a full dental suite with dental x-ray, dental machine, general x-ray, ultrasound and idexx lab equipment.

Join a team that includes a Head Vet, 5 Vets (Feline Certificate holder), 9 RVNs (Anaesthesia & Physiotherapy certs), 1 SVN, and 4 receptionists supported by a Practice Manager. We encourage team members to work toward certificates and continued professional development.
