Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team as an Engineering Apprentice. Our engineering apprenticeship programme in Oakdale, South Wales offers a four‑year pathway to NVQ (Level
3) and BTEC HNC Electrical/Electronic qualifications, developed in partnership with Newport & District Group Training Association (NDGTA).

As an apprentice, you will work in partnership with NDGTA and our Oakdale site, gaining hands‑on experience in general engineering and contributing to projects across our defence and scientific arenas.

• Demonstrate good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, integrity, professionalism, flexibility and commitment.
• Be self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn engineering within the defence industry.
• Show problem‑solving and innovative thinking skills.
• Commit to learning and developing your skills throughout the apprenticeship.
• Minimum 5 GCSEs (A‑C/9‑4) in English and Maths; additional STEM‑related subjects are beneficial.
• Be able to attend the NDGTA centre and our site in Oakdale for training and work.

• The starting salary is £18,000, with yearly reviews during the apprenticeship.
