The Space and Defense team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Power & Data Division in Blacksburg, Virginia. This role will support the Division Operations and Supply Chain Director and Business Unit General Managers in developing and refining short- and long-range business strategies. The successful candidate will lead the creation of detailed project schedules and operational execution plans, ensuring timely achievement of strategic goals.
A core tenet of the role will be driving stakeholder accountability through commitment to results.
As a Project Manager, you will:
* Develop detailed project schedules and action plans with measurable milestones and deliverables.
* Manage complex, multi-layered project plans, balancing parallel initiatives to achieve strategic targets.
* Oversee projects with a focus on schedule, cost, quality, scope, and risk. Imparting project management expertise.
* Monitor progress proactively and predictively, assessing impacts on high-level and sub-level milestones.
* Lead teams in creating and executing recovery plans for missed targets.
* Identify critical resources and coordinate across multiple business functions to ensure alignment and performance.
* Communicate business strategies and plans across all organizational levels.
* Coach team members to drive buy-in and performance toward desired outcomes.
* Create project visuals and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide clear, concise status updates to senior and executive leadership.
To be considered for Project Manager, you will need:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or an applicable technical field
* 5 years in program or project management experience, preferably in a manufacturing, technology, or market-based field.
* Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results under pressure.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
