Job Description
The Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position in anatomic pathology, with the rank of assistant or associate professor. The candidate will join a team of eight board-certified anatomic pathologists.
Responsibilities- Providing diagnostic pathology service (including surgical biopsy and necropsy duty) for Virginia Tech Animal Laboratory Services (ViTALS) and histopathology service for the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Animal Health Laboratory Services
- Teaching in the DVM professional program
- Training pathology residents, which includes teaching in graduate-level pathology courses and participating in histopathology rounds
- Engaging in independent or collaborative research
- Infectious diseases
- Inflammatory/regulatory disorders (including cancer)
- Translational/regenerative medicine
- Epidemiology/disease investigation
There will be opportunities to develop independent and collaborative research programs within and outside the College of Veterinary Medicine, including at various life sciences-oriented institutes.
Required Qualifications- DVM or equivalent
- ACVP/ECVP board eligible
- ACVP/ECVP board certification
- A PhD in the area of biomedical sciences
