Radiology Support Workers play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care by undertaking a broad range of clinical and non-clinical duties, in support of and under the direct supervision of a registered healthcare professional within radiology.
They are responsible for planning and organising their own workload in collaboration with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities- Plan and organise own workload in collaboration with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide chaperone support and assistance during radiology examinations.
- Deliver safe peri‑procedural care and support the effective delivery of radiology services.
- Contribute to the training and supervision of junior staff and students.
- Assist the Registered Healthcare Professional with procedures in line with service requirements and the principles of suitable radiology imaging techniques.
- Welcome patients, instruct them on preparation and nature of their examination and respond to personal needs.
- Assist in all aspects of patient care, including moving, escorting patients and relatives, and helping patients on and off the imaging table.
- Chaperone patients during examinations, assist with dressing/undressing and support personal hygiene.
- Maintain sufficient stock levels in clinical areas, record and put away stock deliveries.
- Prepare and set up for imaging/interventional examinations where appropriate.
- After training and assessment under the direction of a registered health‑care professional, undertake clinical activities such as IV cannulation, ECG recording, blood glucose monitoring, and eGFR measurements for renally impaired patients attending for IV contrast examinations.
- Administer patient safety questionnaires and process patient details on radiology administration systems.
- Work long days that may include evenings and weekends.
- Travel between community sites in the Blackpool and Fylde area as part of the role.
- Working hours will be in line with radiology service requirements, including 8 am‑8 pm and 9 am‑5 pm shifts;
Monday to Sunday rotation. - Flexibility, enthusiasm, high motivation, and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Full training will be provided as part of the role.
- Adherence to a 24/7 service requires a professional, flexible, and self‑motivated approach.
- All individuals employed in patient‑facing roles should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
