Job Description:
We’re Hiring:
Quality Manager – £48,000–£50,000 | Blackburn
We’re looking for a hands-on, forward-thinking Quality Manager to take ownership of the quality function at our Blackburn site. This is a critical leadership role overseeing compliance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Technical Manager
Responsible for:
Quality Co-ordinators
Hours:
full time, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
Purpose of the Role
To lead and develop the site’s quality team and systems, ensuring full compliance with standards (including ISO and BRC), maintaining product integrity, and enhancing operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
* Develop and maintain integrated quality systems for incoming goods, in-process manufacturing, and finished products
* Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and customer requirements
* Operate and continuously improve the Quality Management System
* Lead site preparation and hosting of customer and certification audits
* Co-ordinate and conduct scheduled internal audits
Continuous Improvement
* Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
* Champion problem-solving and root cause analysis
* Implement corrective actions in response to non-conformities and complaints
* Chair Management Review Meetings (MRM) and HACCP meetings
* Attend and contribute to weekly Quality and Tooling meetings
Customer & Supplier Relations
* Investigate customer complaints thoroughly and maintain the complaint database
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to resolve quality issues
* Visit customer sites to support issue resolution where necessary
* Support vendor development and selection processes to ensure supplier quality
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and manage the quality team to meet business objectives
* Ensure effective resource planning and delivery against KPIs
* Promote a quality-first, data-driven culture throughout the business
* Collaborate with other departments and build strong cross-functional relationships
Person Specification
* Proven experience in managing quality systems in a manufacturing environment
* Strong leadership and line management experience
* Experience in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
* Hands-on, pragmatic approach to leadership
* Excellent communication and influencing skills
* Ability to balance leadership with being a supportive team player
* Confident working under pressure and to strict deadlines
* Numerate and computer literate
* Experience in fast-paced manufacturing is essential
* Experience in injection moulding is highly desirable but not essential
* Able to make informed decisions and take ownership of actions
