RTA Fee Earner

We are in need of a pre-litigation fee earner in our Blackburn

• Progressing your caseload in a manner to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and pertinent legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
• To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate and to do so expeditiously.
• Identify cases that have an element of serious injury and elevate them from the Portal, supervised and supported by a recognised solicitor within the team.
• Instruct barristers to represent clients at hearings and obtain formal advice over issues of quantum.
• Instruct medical agencies, engineers and liaise with third parties.
• Undertake other duties reasonably required by partners or senior management.

• Essential
  
  Skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A good understanding of the MOJ process.
  • Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Have proven IT skills and ability to adapt new technology.
  • Able to demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral and written presentation skills.
  • The ability to provide a high level of client care.
• Desirable
  
  Skills:
  • Preferably claimant orientated.
  • Proficient with Proclaim Case Management, although training will be provided.
  • Experience of Infant Approval Hearings and Stage 3 hearings.

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • A positive approach to working under pressure in a busy environment.
