We are looking for people with excellent communication skills, hand to eye co-ordination, flexibility and patient focus.
Basic computer skills are also required.
We are looking for people to fill part-time posts - two or three or four days a week or the roles may be combined to make up a full-time position depending on suitability of applicants, who have a full UK driving licence. Own transport is essential.

Main duties of the jobObtain blood samples from patients fit for laboratory testing ensuring minimum distress or discomfort is caused to the patient during this process and work with minimal assistance/under pressure.
Testing urine samples with dipstick for infection or glucose/protein and to follow agreed Practice protocols if results were abnormal.
Comply with infection prevention and control procedures at all times. This includes safe sharps disposal and cleaning or safe disposal of any item contaminated with bodily fluids.
Comply with your responsibility to safeguard children and vulnerable adults.
Act as a chaperone in doctors consultations according to Practice policy.
Maintain the cold chain when drugs / vaccines are delivered to the surgery.
Ensure mandatory training is kept updated

Person Specification Qualifications- Good standard of education including GCSE English Language and Maths or equivalent
- Phlebotomy Certificate or equivalent
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to follow procedures / instructions in a safe and efficient manner
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience of phlebotomy or healthcare work
- Use of car for work purposes to commute to and from our surgeries
- Knowledge and Skills
- Basic computer skills to input and retrieve electronic (sensitive and confidential) information
- Knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of veins & artery location/circulatory system
- First Aid and CPR
- Ability to work to work in a team or as an individual
- Ability to be flexible with work patterns
- Ability to prioritise workloads
