Pharmacy Technician

The closing date is 22 January 2026

We have an opportunity for a 12-month fixed term contract for 3 days a week to cover maternity leave, and are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician, with a keen interest in mental health, to join our wonderful Pharmacy team.

Pendleview is a mental health unit made up of six inpatient wards based at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. The unit provides 24 hour care for patients between the ages of 18 to 65 years old. The inpatient team works across all wards providing individualised recovery focussed treatment plans in collaboration with the patient. For some patients this may be a brief stay for intensive treatment and support, others who suffer from severe and enduring mental illness may require more frequent admissions.

The Pharmacy Service within Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust is a well-established team with a wealth of expertise in both Mental Health and Community services and continues to provide high quality clinical input into all aspects of the health provision delivered by the organisation. We are a supportive team committed to the education and development of our expanding service.

You will support the team with medicines supply for the unit and will support the use of the electronic prescribing system.

Participate in local and national audits and monitor compliance with medicines legislation and national and local standards for the safe and secure handling of medicines. Act as a key member of the multidisciplinary ward team and the wider pharmacy team. There may be a requirement to travel to other sites within the Trust.
