Finance Project Assistant

Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)

We’re looking for a Finance Projects Assistant to support the delivery of key finance transformation initiatives across EG On the Move. In this role, you'll work within our Finance Projects, Systems & BI Team, helping to improve the way we operate by enhancing systems, strengthening processes and controls, and supporting data accuracy across the business. You’ll assist with project coordination, collaborate with colleagues across Finance, Retail and Operations, and play a key part in streamlining reporting and ways of working.

You’ll also contribute to ERP system improvements, support automation activities, and help maintain strong financial controls, promoting consistent, efficient processes across all areas while contributing to impactful change in a fast‑paced, growing organisation.

• Support the delivery of finance transformation projects, driving continuous improvement across core finance processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardisation and simplification across finance and operational workflows in a multi‑site forecourt retail environment.
• Develop and implement standardised reporting frameworks, documentation and KPIs to enhance commercial visibility and support better decision‑making.
• Support the integration of acquisitions, new site openings and business expansions into finance systems and control frameworks.
• Conduct process mapping, gap analysis and root‑cause reviews to identify inefficiencies and deliver scalable, sustainable solutions.
• Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure transformation initiatives align with wider organisational strategy.
• Contribute to the creation of a long‑term finance transformation roadmap that supports business growth and operational excellence.

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a finance function with a solid understanding of core finance processes.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets, plus exposure to ERP systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar).
• Experience supporting projects, system changes or process improvement initiatives, with a strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
• Clear communicator with the ability to work effectively across teams and build strong cross‑department relationships.
