Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Blackburn Primary School
Are you a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a rewarding temporary role in a welcoming primary school near Oswaldtwistle? We are seeking a dedicated professional to support pupils and teachers across a range of year groups.
About the Role
As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the school by:
* Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes across various year groups
* Supporting teachers by easing workload pressures, allowing more time for lesson planning and marking
* Assisting with lesson planning and evaluating pupil progress
* Providing targeted support to pupils, particularly in key subjects such as literacy, reading and maths
* Working closely with class teachers to ensure all lessons are engaging, effective and inclusive
* Handling relevant paperwork and contributing to assessments
* Communicating positively with parents about pupil progress when required
* Acting as a strong role model, encouraging positive behaviour and a love of learning
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience working as a HLTA in a primary school setting
* Confidence delivering lessons across all primary year groups
* A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A proactive, flexible and supportive approach to learning
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and innovative teaching ideas
