Overview
Job Summary:
Under general supervision is responsible for working with children of various ages, in planning, supervising and leading activities by performing the following duties.
- Responsible for planning, supervising and leading activities at the camp site.
- Must be able to work with children, parents, and visitors tactfully and courteously.
- Inspect equipment and facilities.
- Keep an inventory of equipment.
- Maintain records and reports.
- Keep site clean and store equipment properly.
- Maintain discipline.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from a four year high school or GED and three months experience working with children of various ages, preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCertified in Adult and Child CPR and First Aid.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Skill: in recreational activities such as wellness/fitness, sports, arts and crafts.
- Knowledge: of game rules; and of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability: Knowledge of game rules; and of departmental policies and procedures.
