American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in Bismarck, ND, requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and night shift availability.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital L&D unit with 19 beds,

• Patient population includes active labor, high-risk deliveries, postpartum mom/baby couplets, and gyn surgical post-op patients,

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, up to 1:5-6 for combined mom/baby and gyn assignments,

• Floating required to newborn nursery and NICU as needed,

• Equipment includes fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, and vital signs monitors; OBIX used for L&D documentation and centralized monitoring;
Epic used for gyn charting,

• 12-hour night shifts with some day shifts,

• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required,

• Epic EMR experience applicable to gyn charting,

Job Requirements

• Active ND or compact RN license required,

• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP,

• Minimum 3 years of experience in L&D, postpartum, and gyn care,

• Fetal monitoring experience required,

• STABLE certification preferred but not required,

• Must be willing to float to the newborn nursery and NICU,

• Two current professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the specialty within the last 3 years,

• All certifications must be active at time of consideration - no pending certifications accepted,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include nursing care for L&D patients through delivery (including high-risk cases), postpartum mom and baby care, and gyn surgical post-op care,

• Orientation is 36 hours,

• Navy blue scrubs required for gyn and mom/baby assignments; hospital-provided scrubs for L&D,

• Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must disclose this; a prior end date of at least 6 months before the start of this assignment is required,

• This position does not accept candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility,

• All staff must badge in and out at the facility,
