The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the hospice volunteer program. This role recruits, trains, supervises, and retains qualified volunteers to provide compassionate support to patients, families, and hospice team members. The coordinator ensures all volunteer activities comply with regulatory requirements and align with the mission, values, and quality standards of the hospice organization.
What you will need:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background and health screenings per hospice policy.
- Previous experience in volunteer management, hospice, healthcare, or nonprofit settings strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage emotionally sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
