We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to serve as our Insurance Programs Manager
.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage and administer the health, dental, vision, and life insurance programs, employee assistance program, and flex spending program.
  • Develop, implement and assess goals, objectives, policies and procedures for NDPERS group insurance programs.
  • Advise executive management on overall program operations.
  • Develop, administer, and monitor the biennial budget for the Group Insurance Programs division.
  • Lead the Member Services and Enrollment teams, and provide direction, management, and oversight to ensure high‑quality service delivery and member satisfaction.
  • Oversee and monitor the performance of provider companies, claims administrators, consultants, and vendors to ensure compliance with contracts, plan documents, and state and federal laws.
  • Assist PERS Board, interest groups, members, and legislative committees in planning, developing, writing, enacting, and implementing legislation concerning Division programs.
  • Present to PERS Board, employers, interest groups, members and legislative committees.
  • Monitor federal initiatives and requirements affecting Division programs; prepare action plans for compliance and coordinate activities with PERS staff, consultants, and legal counsel.
What You’ll Bring
  • A bachelor's degree and three years of work experience administering group insurance or retirement plans.
  • Demonstrated experience serving in a lead, supervisory, or managerial role.
What Will Set You Apart
  • Experience in administration of large employer group insurance and/or retirement plans.
  • Experience delivering presentations to groups of varying sizes, including explaining benefit plan provisions and addressing audience questions.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience leading and managing project implementations from planning to completion.
  • Strong leadership competencies, including the ability to lead and manage teams, solve complex problems, make sound decisions, and build strong, collaborative relationships through effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Location

Location:

This role is based onsite at our office location in Bismarck, ND.

Hiring Range: $91,146 – $102,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
