Job Title
Technician 4 - Work Controls
Position FunctionThe Work Controls Technician position reports to Director of Facility Systems; and works closely with Director of Building and Grounds Maintenance and Support (BGMS) and Facility Master Planner. The function of this position is to provide project oversight on Computer Maintenance System customizations/enhancements, technical support for maintenance shop crew people on tablets/iPads, and support for BGMS Director and Facility Master Planner on utilization of Computer Maintenance System.
EssentialPerformance Responsibilities
- Asset management in Computer Maintenance System and equipment warranty database for all shops.
- Work with Facility Master Planner on asset alignment with Facility Condition Assessment (FCA)
- Preventative Maintenance (PM) work order management in Computer Maintenance System for all shops.
- Manage contractors as active users of Computer Maintenance System.
- Set up and deploy tablets/iPads to shop crew people
- Organize and facilitate Computer Maintenance System configurations/customizations with specific team
- Inventory management in Computer Maintenance System
- Maintain databases, spreadsheets, letters/memos, and presentations
- Research data and generate routine monthly reports as requested
- Provide additional system administrative support to Computer Maintenance System when needed
- Work order desk support
- Post materials and labor costs to work orders, close work orders daily
Assists with additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
EquipmentThis position requires the ability to use standard office equipment, including tablets/iPads, and adherence to WPS guidelines for equipment use.
TravelLimited travel between schools and central offices may be required.
Physical and Mental Demands- Regular attendance required to meet the demands of the position and for effective teamwork
- Ability to work overtime on short notice may be required
- Attendance at required meetings
- Ability to bend, twist, balance, stoop and kneel
- Lifting of 20-50 pounds and occasional lifting of 50-100 pounds is required
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written in order to communicate with others inside and outside of the organization for the purpose of giving and obtaining information
- Ability to communicate effectively with a Supervisor when their discretion is needed
- Ability to perform as an effective team player
- Ability to plan, organize, make decisions and prioritize work to meet the daily demands of the building
- Exhibit a professional manner and a positive attitude
- Use good judgment to make decisions on recurring assignments
- Display a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to conform to proper standards of professional dress and appearance
- Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and the role of every employee in achieving each of them
- Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors
- Will be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day to day tasks
- Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy
- Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues
- Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service
- In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
- A High School education or GED is preferred
- Minimum of six months experience required.
