Overview

Associate Attorney opening in Bismarck, ND — available only through BCG. A growing, community-focused practice is hiring a 2–5 year Associate Attorney to work directly with a lead partner across family law, criminal defense, estate planning, and probate matters. • Manage and prioritize an active caseload across multiple practice areas
• Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and estate planning documents
• Conduct legal research, fact analysis, and case strategy development
• Appear in court for hearings, negotiations, and proceedings
• Support mediation, settlement discussions, and trial preparation
• Communicate directly with clients and maintain case files
• Coordinate with paralegals and legal assistants
• Track time and support billing narratives

Required:

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in family law, criminal defense, estate planning, and/or probate
• Strong legal writing and document drafting skills
• Ability to manage deadlines independently
• Licensed in North Dakota or ability to obtain licensure promptly

Preferred:

• Courtroom or hearing experience

Close collaboration with the lead attorney, structured mentorship, clear staffing, and regular feedback to accelerate development.
