Position Title

Skills Trainer (Behavioral Modification Specialist)

Location

Bismarck, ND – This role requires frequent travel to client homes and community settings.

About the Role

As a Skills Trainer, you will teach youth and families daily living, communication, emotion regulation, budgeting, and health & safety skills. You will work as part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team focused on providing the best support plan possible for each individual.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to youth and families’ homes and communities to deliver skills training.
  • Teach daily living and household skills, communication, emotion regulation, budgeting, and health, safety, and hygiene skills.
  • Model skills, role‑model and mentor clients, and empower them to live a quality independent life.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and interventions.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, child development, family science, human services, or communication disorders, or a bachelor’s degree in an equivalent field with at least two years of related, supervised experience in a professional setting.
  • Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW) by the North Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners, or a Master’s degree in social work with LSW licensure from the same board. (If LBSW, require two years of professional human services work experience).
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a defensive driving course during new‑hire orientation.
  • Passion for teaching, role‑modeling, and empowering clients in home and natural environments.
