Security Guard
The primary role of the North Dakota Heritage Center part‑time Security Officer is to ensure the security and safety of the SHSND collections and collections on loan from other entities, maintain a high level of safety and security for the visiting public and agency staff, and maintain the integrity of all security and safety equipment and systems required to meet or exceed the SHSND mission statement.
Responsibilities- Patrolling all exhibit galleries and public spaces.
- Maintaining situational awareness of activities and location of visitors.
- Following emergency response procedures during public hours.
- Enforcing all agency rules and regulations.
Schedule:
16-24 hours per week, every other weekend. Additional weekday and evening shifts may be available.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Enthusiastic, outgoing personality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adhere to a schedule.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Maintain a level‑head and exercise good judgment during all situations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient using computers.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 35 pounds.
- Assist visitors throughout the building as necessary, and ascend/descend stairs.
- Customer service experience.
- Previous experience in emergency response and medical emergencies.
- Experience using two‑way radios for communication.
