** The
** Youth Development Center Teacher
** provides care and early childhood education for infant, toddler or preschool children, ages 0-5, in a licensed childcare & preschool center environment.
* Be a role model.
* Develop and lead implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans appropriate for age group.
* Supervise the children, classroom, and Teaching Assistants assigned to the classroom.
* Assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures.
* Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
* Conduct student assessments and parent-teacher conferences.
* Help assure a clean and well-organized classroom and equipment.
* Respond immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations and emergencies.
* Attend and be an active participant at staff meetings.

** time off!## Qualifications
** We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility**. Requires a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification or the ability to obtain certification within a specified time-frame.
* The YMCA offers a CDA Certification training program, including financial assistance.
* A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field preferred. Previous experience working in an early childhood setting preferred. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with parents regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc. CPR & First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training courses must be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA.
* At the YMCA Youth Development Centers, we provide high-quality, values-oriented, state-licensed childcare and pre-school education. We have three locations in Bismarck Mandan--the Main YMCA on Washington Street, North location on Century Avenue and Mandan location inside the Family Wellness facility.
