Position: Classroom Teacher - Myhre Elementary (2026-27 School Year)

Overview

Bismarck Public Schools is accepting applications for a Classroom Teacher at Myhre Elementary School beginning the 2026 - 2027 School Year. There is one current position available at Myhre, with the exact grade level assignment to be determined.

This position will start August 14, 2026. New Teacher Orientation will be held August 11th, 12th and 13th.

A teaching contract is 187 days. External candidates are allowed to bring in up to 17 years of contracted K - 12 teaching experience.

A valid ND teaching certificate
Bachelors degree

This posting is for internal and external teaching applicants (this also includes current BPS employees in support staff/ temporary/substitute positions). Current contracted part-time BPS teachers wanting a full time position should also complete the external application.

Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated by the immediate supervisor.

Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.

Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom and on the campus in a fair and just manner.

Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Attends and participates in faculty meetings.

Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.

Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with other staff members.

Provides for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning complying with Bismarck Public Schools' professional growth program.
