Position Overview

The Customer Service Associate supports the day‑to‑day operations of the Customer Service Team, promotes sales, obtains orders, and provides service to our customers.

Location

This position may be stationed in Bismarck, ND;
Minot, ND;
Williston, ND; or Dickinson, ND.

Essential Functions
  • Work closely with sales and marketing staff to meet branch sales and profit objectives.
  • Obtain orders and provide proactive customer service, sales, and service functions including order entry, expediting, pricing, returns, delivery coordination, and follow‑up on inquiries.
  • Provide timely follow‑up on customer technical inquiries and requests.
  • Maintain open order reports, billing block reports, and other required reports consistently.
  • Participate actively in marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Consistently deliver responsive, quality service to exceed customer expectations.
  • Supply input to BSE personnel on customer needs or concerns regarding pricing, inventory, and product competition.
  • Coordinate with Customer Financial Services to resolve customer‑billing problems resulting from pricing, shipping, delivery, or credit errors.
  • Provide input to pricing and purchasing on product evaluations, code descriptions, inventory management, pricing development, and other related functions.
Non‑essential Functions
  • Attend sales meetings and training programs as required.
  • Assist with sales meetings and trade shows as needed.
  • Develop quotations and request bids or performance bonds for customers within company profit objectives and guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a two‑year business/trade degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two years of customer service, sales desk, or sales experience with strong knowledge of electrical products and systems.
  • Technical ability to understand electrical systems with at least two years of electrical distribution experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Proficient in PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Internet, Email, and SAP software.
