Site Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering main contractor on a major aviation infrastructure project running for 18-24 months. This is a long-term opportunity offering a competitive day rate and the chance to work on a high-profile scheme.

The project involves complex airside and landside infrastructure works, including structural steel works, piling, foundations, and pile caps, so experience within aviation, major infrastructure, or similarly regulated environments is highly desirable.

• Carry out setting out and surveying duties across allocated work packages
• Support delivery of structural steel, piling, foundation, and pile cap works
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Prepare and review RAMS and ITPs
• Conduct quality inspections and maintain QA records
• Produce and maintain accurate as-built documentation
• Assist with management of subcontractors and direct labour on site
• Monitor works against programme and report progress to the Senior Engineer / Site Agent
• Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at all times
• Attend site meetings and contribute to technical discussions

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Experience in structural steel, piling, foundations, and pile cap works
• Aviation or airside experience (desirable)
• Strong understanding of QA procedures and documentation
• Competent in use of surveying equipment (Total Station / GPS)
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent experience)
• CSCS Card (essential)
• SMSTS (essential)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
